The "Bridge School" bridges the two parts of the small village of Xiashi at Fujian China found on either side of a small stream that runs through the town. Placed in such a way that addresses the environment, the School of bridge connects the people, by providing a central, social.
The structure is created by two steel beams that cross the stream with the space between the housing functions of the school. Suspended from the structure and functioning under it a pedestrian bridge for the villagers to use. Small, modern design, with no reference to the style of traditional construction zone, the school has yet to be the physical and spiritual center of what was a town in decline.

A public library that separates the two ends of classrooms and each classroom, or both ends of the school can open, creating open environments at the ends of the building are integrated with the outdoor space. The stage at the north end can be used for presentations, with Toulouse as a backdrop. The result is a project that has successfully strengthened the entire community, encapsulating the social sustainability through social architecture intervention. The broader aspect of the project was part of the design brief, which was developed with the principal and chief of the village to meet the needs of the community rather simply an elementary school.

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA) is an architectural prize established by Aga Khan IV in 1977. It aims to identify and reward architectural concepts that successfully address the needs and aspirations of Islamic societies in the fields of contemporary design, social housing, community development and improvement, restoration, reuse and area conservation, as well as landscape design and improvement of the environment.
It is presented in three-year cycles to multiple projects and has a monetary award, with prizes totalling up to US$ 500,000.Uniquely among architectural awards, it recognizes projects, teams, and stakeholders in addition to buildings and people.
