Carlo Scarpa
Architecture Book Description

The definitive monograph on a celebrated Italian architect, Carlo Scarpa includes more than 350 photographs, sketches, and architectural plans, along with in-depth walk throughs of over 15 key projects such as the Central Pavilion in the Giardini of the Venice Bienniale, the Olivetti Showroom in St. Marks' Square, the Canova Museum, and the Brion Cemetery.

A cult figure with mass appeal, Scarpa was heralded by architectural luminaries such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Kahn. Today, Scarpa's work is more relevant than ever.

Editorial Reviews

With 350 images and drawings, Carlo Scarpa documents the architect's dramatic modernism - the sweeping red staircase of his Banca Popolare in Verona, his sleek concrete-and-wood Olivetti showroom in Venice - even as it celebrates his poetic vision? (ELLE Décor)
